A lot of people recently asked me about how I manage to travel. First thing that goes through their mind na rich kid ang peg ko, well, di lang nila alam, I’m broke as hell hindi lang obvious hahaha. Actually, you don’t have to be rich to travel the world trust me guys, you just have to be smart. Learn how to spend your money especially with unnecessary things, and until now am still working on that hahaha. Ang hirap kaya mag tipid! There’s a lot of ways para makatipid, especially when it comes to accommodation, food, shopping, transportation etc! and I’d like to share some of my ideas.

Transportation

We all know plane ticket ang pinaka mahal sa entire trip but if magaling ka mag hanap ng discount fares, promos, Good job! You’re getting there my love haha!!

Normally, mura mag book ng departure ticket ng Tuesday/ Wednesday , and pinaka mahal kapag Fri and Sunday. Cheapest airlines in Europe are Ryanair and Easyjet. Ang pinaka mura ko na Book sa Ryanair was around £5  (327pesos) going to Oslo, Norway from London. Ohh diba? Hahaha tyagaan lang talaga I’m using Skyscanner app to find tickets or sometimes I  go directly to their website since every airlines as they’re posting some of their promos sa site nila. Sa Asia naman AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Jetstar etc.are recommended.

Sometimes they offer package deals which includes plane ticket and hotel. But I don’t recommend it that much, I had a bad experience with that before sa Germany trip ko. After mo i-claim ung deal, they will ask you,  Actually forced you to pay for some next shit that you don’t even need it like Travel tax, insurance etc’. So imbes na mapamura ka sa sinasabe nilang “package deal” napamahal ka pa, pero di ko nilalahat ah! and Don’t get me wrong guys, travel insurance is one of the most important things to have when you are travelling. So its a must-have! Trust me, you will need it. We’ll never know, ano mangyari sayo while you’re travelling the world. I’m sure you don’t wanna end up paying for big amount of money sa hospital bills mo dahil na-injure ka or na-food poison etc. So get an insurance and let them deal with it.

Based from my experience, I always get the earliest flight for various reasons.  First, kasi cheaper sya. Secondly, mas ok dumating sa pupuntahan mo ng day time, at least di ka mahihirapan mag hanap ng lugar or hotel mo and may time ka pa mag gala unlike pag dumating ka ng gabi madilim na! Delikado na, especially if you are alone and you will end up taking taxi from the airport which is sobrang mahal.

I know ang hirap gumising ng napaka-aga but try though!

If you will travel by bus or train.

Make sure you keep a big bottle of water with you while you’re on the road!

Taxi

So avoid avoid, and  if the driver asks if you’re from around here? say yes, don’t tell them na tourist ka para di ka maloko or palayuin ung byahe mo para tumaas meter mo. Pero again kung kaya mo naman gamitin ung public transpo from airport to your accommodation Please do! For me mas better i explore ang lugar with the public transpo so at the same time feel na feel mo ang pagiging dora explorer mo and malaki matitipid mo! Swear! Lalo madadagdagan ung self confidence mo, Ok lang maligaw kasama yan sa pag ta travel, i explore mo lang and i enjoy mo at the same time, marami ka rin makikita na hidden places na wala sa itinerary mo so my advantage din kung maligaw ka lol mag selfie ka narin para souvenir ba hahaha 😂.

Accommodation

Well, normally lage ako sa hostel nag i-stay. Let’s face the truth, Hostels are way cheaper than hotels especially if you are travelling alone like me at ang hanap mo is makatipid and to meet solo travellers like you. They offer private rooms din naman sa hostel if gusto mo ng privacy or kasama mo jowa mo. But there’s still some people who find it funny when they’re asking me san ako nag checheck in pag nag ta travel ako pag sinabe kong hostel! Grabe yung mukha nila parang naaawa saken. Oh well, nag tatravel ako to see the place and mag explore.

Oh well fellas, I know you guys are thinking that hostel means dirty and only for young people. Then you have to share the bathroom and room with more than one people. But c’mon, tutulugan mo lang naman eh, saka my magaganda na hostel with bar sa loob, free tour, free breakfast, fancy lounge and some fun activities din.

Hostel in Portugal, 9euro per night.

Don’t be so negative with hostels, I love hostels na kaya. Honestly, I was sad when I went to Santorini kasi I can’t find a hostel there so I stayed in a hotel room on my own. Ang lungkot kasi ikaw lang mag isa, ang hirap mag make new friends kasi napaka private. Basta need mo lang talaga pumili ng maayos, before you book.

Read the reviews first ,especially the location. Probably you guys are thinking na pag nasa central yung accommodation/or malapit sa mga tourist spot,  Mas mahal pero no point nang lumayo ka tapos kelangan mo pa mag train or mag bus. Ganun din eh, yung ibabayad mo sa pag commute mo ng train at sa bus. lt will cost you the same or more pa.

View from my hostel in Budapest, Hungary. £9 per night

About sa pag lalakad nga pala. Try to walk as much as you can! It’s good for your health, ika nga nila. Tsaka kung kaya naman lakarin, eh why not diba? Isipin mo nalang nababawasan ung mga taba mo saka oily foods na kinain mo for today hahaha,

Or you can sign up po here sa workaway.info  like pwede ka po mag volunteer mag help out sa farm nila, hostel, or tumulong sa mga bata or mag turo ng english or kahit ano po, maximum 5hrs a day po and ung kapalit nung tulong nyo po free accommodation and sometimes with free food narin.  I’am planning to do that this coming dec sa palawan :).

See you around guys.

Shopping

Just buy small souvenir like Magnets,Keychains etc.

My keychain collection, Sa lahat ng countries na napuntahan ko and still hoping for more.

And saka no point mag explore sa mga shopping malls para sakin kasi pare parehas lang sila edi sana nag stay nalang ako sa bansa ko at dito nalang ako nag mall hahaha.

Foods

When it comes to food, what I normally do is, I will go to the grocery store and then bumibili ako ng mga ready to eat na like sandwich, salad, pasta, pastry etc. Especially fruits, always have a banana with you and some nutrition bars sobrang helpful nito especially pag nasa daan ka and wala ka mahanap na makakainan. So pampatawid gutom lang.

Hahanap ako ng magandang spot like sa harapan ng Eiffel tower, Acropolis, Budapest parliament etc. tapos uupo ako then dun ko kakainin yung binili kong foods from the grocery store edi win win lang hahaha, and bili ka ng beer or wine sa mga local shops kesa ubusin mo pera mo sa bar na triple ang price lol but still up to you!.

Useful nga pala ung Reusable na spoon and fork for take a food!

Try to avoid foods from the airport or sa mga sikat na places. They cost 3x more than normally price ng food. So fvckin expensive!

For some people, what they do is nag luluto sila sa hostel kasi normally may kitchen naman dun. Pero I don’t do it kasi I’m not good at cooking. Minsan, I just buy a cup of noodles and dinadala ko sa hostel. And then ayun, lagyan ko hot water. It will only take you 3 mins so my instant food kana hahaha!

Always try their Street foods guys, Mura na ang sarap pa!Screen Shot 2016-08-23 at 21.23.52.png

Turkish Street food                                                              Waffles in Belgium

I always have green tea bags with me. I’m a tea lover kasi since I wanna lose my beer belly. Ayun dinadaan ko sa tea. Sabi nila, green tea daw is malakas makatulong maging flat ung stomach, so yea. Bring your Starbucks tumbler with you, kasi you can ask for free hot water pag pinakita nila ung SB tumbler mo. Then put your own tea bags or 3in1 coffee mo! So nakasave ka ulit! Magkano rin yun . You can do the same thing sa plane, just give your tumbler sa cabin crew and ask for hot water!

Tinatry ko na maximum i-spend in a day is mga around €20 which is around 800 pesos.

Pero it depends parin where you go, kasi bawat country iba ung currency eh. Especially Western Europe mejo pricey compare sa eastern europe 🙂

And alam mo  kung ano yung masarap sa feeling?

Yung makatulong sa unfortunate people. What I usually do is I buy them a meal and give it to them. At least per country na pupuntahan mo try mo tumulong 🙂 Best feeling evaaaaaaaaah!.

Dame po nag memesg about What i do for living? Before i started travelling, till now, I have two jobs first a crew sa fastfood chain and my part time job po as Care assistant. So I don’t earn that much, I’m working like a horse just to support my Monthly bills and most of all my travel expenses, and I’m 21yrs old na po 🙂

I do encourage everyone na itry mag solo travel kahit once lang especially sa mga babae, trust me nakaka addict sya, uulit ulitin mo 🙂
